Day 2 - 12/10/24
Reading Thoughts
CPIR means Cephalic Phase Insulin Response. It is when you begin to eat and your brain knows that "food is incoming" and signals your body to release insulin so that you can begin the metabolizing process.
"Hot Milkshake" Coffee with milk and sugar. Obviously not part of a fast given that they start the CPIR process in your body. So that means black coffee, and I'm going to be attempting to do that starting today. So far this morning I don't mind.. it's not great, but ok. I'm going to try and get used to it.
- Difficulty of todays fast from 1 to 10:
- Eating window goal (in hours): 7 hours from 11a to 6p.
- Actual window (in hours): Opened at 11:15a. Closed at 6:15p.
- What went well?: I feel like I did a good job eating mostly reasonable food during meals. Unfortunately my snack urge in between meals got the best of me and I ended up eating at least three little bags of potato chips. Still far less than I normally would. I ended up having a break fast lunch of remaining potato with chili and half of a spinach greek thing, and for dinner a buffalo chicken caesar salad, of which I made all the dressings!
- What I need to work on: Not feeling rushed at the end of the window. I closed it right at the last second with eating the salad. 7 hours feels like a long time in my mind, but it isn't really.
- Any other thoughts: I'm still struggling with the mental shift. My body mostly seems to be happy with it, other than the short periods of cravings in the evenings and during the morning periods. I need to be mindful to have water near me during those cravings, else they turn in to something worse. The other thing I have to be careful of is not succumbing to old habits of staring in to the fridge.
